The Hell Of Pain Versus The Heaven Of Understanding
July 15, 2008
Folks who suffer from pains such as Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Sciatica, Migraines, Neuropathy, RSD, Restless Leg Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel, Cervical Pain, Thoracic Pain and Chronic Back Pains to name a few, have all been to the doctor, talked to family and friends and gotten THAT LOOK. If you haven't been sidelined by your pain for more than a day then you probably don't have a clue as to what THAT LOOK is like. No, you just go about your business like everything is normal with no additional weight on your shoulders while your spouse, friend, co-worker or family member is trying to find ways to save face and not seem like a whimp while the pain beats you down.
Once you've been hit by a Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, Arthritis or Back pain flareup, being a whimp isn't really a choice you get to make. Being curled up in the fetal position sucking your thumb waiting for whatever medicine you took, whichever heating pad you turned on or however much ice you packed on you to start to numb the pain while your brain is trying to deal with the fact that you just let everybody around you down because THEY ALL ARE...
Even being in pain you can find a way to be productive. Working from home has become a part of the economic sector as businesses have learned to outsource labor and costs have forced creativity as well as reductions in work force. Some companies chose to let certain employees work from home when the types of work they were producing suited opportunity to work outside of the office.
This opportunity came with several doors although at first it was the "standard" non disabled worker who was being offered the jobs that came from companies finding ways to operate more efficiently and cost effectively. AS with any door you get a two way swing. On the back swing of the work from home phenomenom comes the opportunity for stay at home folks and disabled folks who can't work in traditional environments to become a part of the working sector again. Being disabled may create proximity issues but it doesn't always mean that an individual can't or doesn't have the ability to do some kinds of jobs. Sharp minds and superior creativity can be fouind in many folks with disabilities. Companies are beginning to recognize this but with so many rules as...
Awake At 3AM Got Pain,Sex On The Brain And Kids Are Asleep
June 30, 2008
Three O'clock in the morning. Aren't most sane people asleep if they aren't one of the midnight oil burners who are at work? Anybody else up at three a.m. just because they want to be? Or are you like me and you're up because your body is fighting thru the pain flareup and you can't get to sleep? Whatever the reason you're up doesn't really matter because in the end, WE'RE FLIPPIN AWAKE AT THREE A.M.!!! Go figure eh?
Now don't get me wrong, you can accomplish a whole heck of a lot at three in the morning. Many of us remember our younger days when three in the morning meant we were just coming in from the club. Or maybe we were just up cramming for the final Professor Gluma-Glum was giving in the morning. How about it's the weekend and your roommate went home and you have the dorm room all to yourself; maximize the moment baby!! Yeah, being awake at three a.m. isn't always as bad as it could be but this morning it is.
So, I'm sitting here trying to fill my head with pictures of things that I enjoy, as a heterosexual man, looking at....
Barack Obama Selects Condeleeza Rice As His Running Mate
June 23, 2008
When it happens just remember you heard it here first. This isn't the first time I've gone out on a limb (see MICROSOFT TO BUY YAHOO Blogs) and prognasticated on a happening that may seem far-fetched at first glance. Barack Obama selecting Condeleeza Rice as Vice President and running mate for the 2008 election. Just saying that sentence makes sense and no sense at the same time. Selecting Condeleeza Rice as his running mate would catapult Mr. Obama past almost any argument that John McCain could publicly make about experience and track record. Mr. Obama would benefit vicariously from the political clout that Ms. Rice has on the national and world wide level.
Forget for a minute that Ms. Rice is a member of the Republican party and Mr. Obama a member of the Democaratic party. With one of the changes that Mr. Obama and America believes are necessary for America to return to respectability, economic stability and world wide prominence, Ms. Rice could be seen not as Republican but as the right person for the position. Ms. Rice has the experience to be a strong and active V.P. She has been the right hand person to a president for...
When you're married you have marital duties that you need to attend to as part of keeping your marriage healthy, happy and thriving. Sometimes, as we get a little older, we experience aches and pains that might interfere with the physical part of our marital duties. We might not be able to work as many hours or have to change jobs altogether. Playing with our children becomes a difficult and at times not possible duty that we enjoy but feel the pangs of guilt when we can't. Then there is helping keep our homes maintenanced. The little repairs and the projects that we want to complete to keep our homes value up and feeling comfortable as home is our castle.
Now, to be direct, one of the marital duties that can cause some of the most gut-wrenching disagreements and feelings of separation is the relations duty. Not to say that sex is a all the time mandate but when the feelings arouse, there is a great expectation that they will be fulfilled. A few times of not fulfilling them can cause a chill to permeate the air. If you've ever experienced this chill you know what I'm talking about. ha...
While you may or may not know it, there are some real dangers to not getting enough sleep. It's been known by scientists and doctors for decades that a lack of sleep has more negative side effects than just leaving you feeling tired. In fact, study after study show that insufficient sleep contributes to numerous health conditions — and, according to a recent study done at NIH (National Institutes of Health) even death! But of even greater concern are the dangers associated with prescription sleep medications. Maybe you've heard recently about all of accidents caused by people taking prescription sleep aids, or maybe you've heard about how many people are forced to enter drug rehabilitation programs because of these powerful drugs. The good news is, there are many things you can do to improve your sleep without having to rely on harsh and addictive medications. So if you, or any one you know suffers from difficulty sleeping, I urge you to read about and implement the strategies I'm about to share with you. But before we cover all of the sleep improvement tips, it's important that you understand what causes sleep problems to arise to begin with.
Millions of people suffer from back pain unnecessarily when there is actually a very simple solution, according to Jesse Cannone , certified personal trainer and back pain specialist. "Unfortunately, many people are led to believe that back pain is normal and were all supposed to experience it... well, thankfully, that’s not the case. Eliminating back pain is not nearly as difficult as most people think or are led to believe... it can actually be easy!" says Cannone.
Here’s the simple system that MUST be followed if you are looking for real, long-term, lasting relief:
1. Identify the cause – nearly all of the treatments people receive for back pain only focus on the symptoms and the health care professionals zoom in on only the problem area. The real key in eliminating back pain is to find out exactly what’s causing the problem... and most of the time it’s not even the back!
2. Address both the cause and the symptom – the best approach is a combination of treating the symptoms for pain relief while also addressing the underlying cause.
